breaking the da vinci code

i have no doubt some people are going to find the movie boring. but if you want to know what the Da Vinci Code is all about and you dont want to have to read the book, then yea, go watch the movie. dont worry, you wont come out of the cinema renouncing christianity..unless you're..(don't wanna insult anybody)..

i think ppl who have watched this movie will remember most about the scene where they're explaining da vinci's "the Last Supper" because i think that is the most sensational part.

and really all i have to say about that is summed up in one line, taken from the movie itself: why should we believe anything about what Da Vinci thinks, even if he really meant for his paintings to have cryptic meanings?

and the movie is really all about telling the story, not proving anything in it. if anyone comes up to me and pulls a "fact" from the davinci code, i'm gonna laugh in his face!

they say that Jesus and mary magdalene were a couple, and they had a child, and that Jesus' bloodline continues to this day. and i guess this is part of what makes this movie/book sensational: if that were true, then the church has been telling a lie all this time.

and so in the movie they manage to find Jesus' last descendents lah. now, the second part that makes this movie sensational (my dua kupang) is because Jesus' progeny cannot do any miracles. and if his bloodline arent miracle workers, then Jesus could not have done miracles either. and so, Jesus is not divine.

it's unclear to me what thedavincicode's idea of Jesus' "true" purpose on earth was. mbe someone can clear that up for me.

but overall, i dont think the movie can rouse a lot of people into wanting to know more about the history of Christianity. i think after the movie, alot of ppl are gonna say, "err..yea..Jesus had a wife...so...mary magdalene is the holy grail...err..yea.."

if you watch the movie but not know anything prior, you're gonna get lost quite early. that's why i think it's going to be boring for some. and it's 2.5hrs my friend..

The guy who wrote that piece thinks DVC is Dan Brown's beliefs, and i dont think that is true. Dan Brown intended to write a piece of fiction and he did in DVC, but ppl get so caught up analyzing DVC that they forget.
