summer 2005....
hehe, going to recount the whole 3 months as best i can. will this update do justice to the whole experience...???
alright la, so it was the day we arrived at KLIA. The journey was horrendously long, and we had nothing to do, but sleep and eat and watch some lame movies. So i slept as much as i could, hoping i would reach when i least expect it. However, when the plane was docking at KLIA, my goodness that moment was... we had arrived! so how could i not expect anything! my heart almost jumped to my throat just waiting in my seat.
got our luggage and stuff, and went into the arrival hall. looked for a familiar face and there he was, tall young bloke with dashing good looks, micheal seow chor huat. did i give u a hug? nope. just said hi, yea that's right. i was glad to see u lah mike, but time was running short so i just had to use your phone quick man. got to catch the bus back to ipoh!
if i missed that bus it meant that i'd have to wait 4hrs for the next one. mike, what would you have done my friend, if u were in my shoes...
so we got on the bus back to ipoh!! yea!! i was so so glad i came back, even just the ride on the highway passing thru palm plantations was nostalgic. like a long awaited embrace...ok, even as you read this, u just won't know how much i missed home man. and if u think the palm trees were bad... my goodness when i saw makro, i almost pissed my pants....joke...
alright so we reached ipoh. waiting for our pick up in bercham where the bus stopped at Yoyo office. About that company name, i just find it so ironic. in fact, they should be sued for using our patented welcome gesture!!
talking about our pick up guy, he was LATE. made me wait in my wet pants, hot and sweaty... wasn't even sure you were coming Mr. Ling Jyh Shyn. We were looking out for a decent Proton Wira la with a chubby fella driving... but GUESS what car the fella brought??? hahah...kidding la, it's a nice ol' Ford la. Honestly that wasn't what went thru my mind, i was really really glad to see you la maCha...ehem...aiyoh, it wasn't even the conversation la, it was the presence la..hehe
at this point my memory banks go fuzzy. can't remember where we went from there, i think it was church. OH YEAH! Volleyball!! That was great la, i mean, better than a welcome back sit down at a coffee shop. straight into the fellowship man, with a game of volleyball! (Yea, hot and sweaty with long pants...erk..) who was there...andrea, jason ling and chi and kang, ian, kaijuen (?), raymond, and other fellas.
After the game, moved into andrea's place. alright la at this point, pretty much all we did everyday was volleyball, eat, DOTA and sleep. Church on weekends of course. It was awesome la hahahha! Oh yea, was roped in to play for myf worship the first weekend! It was a blessing la, can't thank you guys enough for that. I mean, it was so long ago since i played in myf.
oh, also at this point may i pay a tribute to all you lovely girls in myf now. what took you so long...where were you in the days of my youth?? you all suddenly show up when we weren't around, where is the justice...?? (just kidding la sukmun..)
and at the end of the day, when andrea had to turn in early cuz he had to work at ING the next day, k la...michael jackson moment la...i had to share a bed with him la...it was a king sized bed la ok, so lots of space. but dunno how that fella sleeps, still can makan my space, put me at the edge of the bed middle of the night. happened couple of times sumore.
oh, and i have to mention the crazy cold air-cond la. and that first night i couldn't find my thin ass blanket in the dark, so i thought he stole it from me! so i pried it from him...muahahaha!! next morning, realized mine was on the floor, and he suffered the long cold night hahah! waitaminute, you took it back from ME! how dare you andrea!
ok, i think it was SUFES' kids' adventure camp next. How did I get myself involved you ask? especially when the ALL GUYS CAMP in which i also volunteered to help, was right after that? and that they were both at Tapah?? oh yea, my parents got me involved...hahah...it was a good experience la, i realize that i can't stand kids...unless if they're angels. If i ever have children, i hope they will be daughters....angelic daughters...pleeease...
anyway made new friends there, and got to hang out with Ian again, hehe..aiyoh Ian, it was great la, had a great time with you. DOTA-ing, going thru 2 camps at Tapah, langkawi. i think it was also bcuz we shared something in common la, which was significant to you at the time. but i think now, you're all good la right? hehe..
ALL GAYS CAMP....awesome la! got some real crazy nutcases in the group. eugene, qivin, hugo, abel, yisheng, kenneth and kevin, xian, kerry, jason ling, jared, alvin, and the rest of you lot la. it was serious fun. And i was wondering how i would survive Tapah for the next few days. went stream-trotting again, mountain hike again, played in the river again, etc.
ah, i am so tempted to tell the world what abel the pimp said about his sister when we were in the HOLY RIVER...hahahah...your expression was priceless!
heheh...while u silly kids tried to sleep in the tent and the pondok(s), i went to the chalet..hahah! i still remember how gshyn and a few fellas said about one of the nights where they were walking around, couldn't sleep, and finally decided to deviously sneak into the chalet...only to find that someone was one step ahead of you!!
eugene and qivin, u're both nice fellas la. football time, qivin made an impression on me la, stupid solo moves....play solo sumore la! hehehe...and eugene kept me awake when i had to drive one of the vans back to ipoh..hahah..lest history repeats itself in a very horrific sequel...

episode 2: return to langkawi
wowowow..another awesome trip with tHe g@Ng...first of all, thanks so much for waiting for us to come back from the Us la, and including us on the trip. it was a smart choice for you all also la, how on earth would you have had that much fun without us??? come on... :p
let's start from scratch la, from the day of of discussion at stadium...it was good meeting up la, havent seen the girls in ages, but we got more than a discussion ler of course, got eye opening incident sumore...hehehehe...anyway, couldn't decide on a date for the trip cuz couldn't get both joanna and kay-kay in on the same time. Tried sorting it out, and in the end fuiyo, Andrea stayed back to wait for jo, so that they'd take the bus together to langkawi and meet us there.
went there rented a van. guess who's the driver? of course the man himself yet again, gshyn who needed the exercise anyway la..heheh... to turn the steering wheel of an overloaded air-cond dying van.
went to the hotel, fuiyo, looked damn nice la, all thanks to jason chi la, who recommended the place. all the girls shared a room, and us guys had another 4...obviously some of them got a bed to themselves la, lucky brats.
first day there, straight to the swimming pool la of course! hahaha..we took turns throwing ppl up into the air!! was damn fun la, with keanfatt and gshyn as human spring boards. i of course was one of the best jumpers... :p
eh, who got those pics?? jason chi! woi!
hoho, got some hydrophobic ppl among the group hehehe... but still managed to get them involved in the end hehe, occupied the not so big pool and played captain ball ala water polo style...ehem, sorry if i was too rough on my part :p
next day went island hopping...the boat ride to the island was fun...hehe...oh, saw some korean chiqs there, the guys in the group watched too much korean drama on tv i suppose, yearning for eastern flavor...hahah..banana boat was syiokalingam la, my first time. kena con twice la, and sent flying into the lake. but the funniest case was gshyn's group's ride i think hahaha!! listen to andrea's advice sumore..
