Food & culture night 2004
Time of the year again for the anual food and culture night, where all student groups of various nationalities gather, cook some delicious food up, eat, sit and enjoy live performances. Jeremy cooked some curry crab noodles, which literally sold out, despite some of our doubts of it being alil expensive...jih hoe made penang laksa and 'hak loh mai'. we also made Neslo and pisang goreng. Good job guys! (Ok, I actually didn't cook anything! xD)
But hey! i was involved alright. I was a businessman out there that night, y'all should've seen me! xP ..met a number of new people, including the person in charge of the Golden Key honor society in the Midwest region! and he's Malaysian! who knew?!
I wish someone taped the culture part. why u ask? cuz i sang man...! Lai Kheng and i put up a song, she was on piano while i played guitar. Guess what we played? Rasa sayang? Kick your ass! We played 'Kau Ilhamku' by Man Bai. We actually only practiced together once, and that was the day of the event...hahah! But i've been practising my part for a while lah..she on the other hand, well..i planned it initially so that she would play violin, but last minute she insisted on piano, and it sounded better. Violin and piano...*sigh* she's fantastic. Couldn't have done it without her.
I was afraid that I'd shake and get stage fright, so i planned and plotted..muahahah..no lar, but i wore something warm, helped alil..why didn't i think of this when i played drums in church...? duh. But i actually did shake alil, actually slipped a chord in the beginning, nothing too noticeable (thanks Lai Kheng!! xD). It was a great feeling in the end. We did well, and i got praises, muahahah! How i wish all the hot chicks in my classes were there...darn!
The day ended with us wanting to go bowling, but it was too expensive and noisy, so we decided to just hang out and have leftover laksa and Neslo at my place. It was a good day!
