Homely Churches of America
I went to a different church last Sunday. Alright, this is a little late, but hey, at least i'm writing some kinda entry here....hehehe... It was actually unplanned, my friends and I were supposed to go to Vineyard as usual, but last Sunday was daylight savings, and the "driver" didn't adjust his clock.....adoi....so we ended up in this other church. It was almost like Vineyard, very homely. And of course, there's a reason for everything, and there was a reason for me being there. I think I kinda know...
It was a very foundational sermon, revolving around the Passion of the Christ, why Christ died, and what it means for us. Honestly, I kinda thought, hey, I know this stuff already ok, but the truth is it's so easy to lose focus as time passes day by day. Anyway, as part of the sermon that day, a man went up to share his testimony. As he shared, I just couldn't contain how I felt, how magnificient God's grace is, the mind-blowing magnitude of His greatness, that He should send His Son for our sake, out of His overflowing, downpour of abundant love the world will never be able to comprehend.
He wasn't a persuasive speaker or anything, but he shared so deeply and honestly, I could see how truly grateful he was right through his eyes. He let God turn his life right-side up, and God showed me just exactly how mountains can move.

Want my autograph?? :D
For organic chem yesterday, we had an invited speaker come by to give a lecture. Lo and behold, who shows up to give the talk? the guy who wrote our textbook! woWwww......not. So I finally get to see how these text-writing buggers look like in real life :p hahaha...kidding, kidding..he's actually a nice guy, gentle, friendly, nerd....hahaha.. So on the "eve of the eve" of our exam, my lecturer asks Prof. Jones to come give a talk for reasons unknown. The material won't even be covered in the exam...hmm...
Well ok, at the end of his talk, -clap clap clap- , my lecturer comes up and says "....thank you thank you, and that's it folks, if you have any questions feel free to come down and have a chat, and if you brought your textbooks, and you want it signed by Prof. Jones, feel free to just come down here..."
and a line of ppl form in front to get his autograph. I'm like, what?
ooo...look what i got, see muh textbook here, autographed by Jones himself...nyuknyuknyuk.... -doink- ok lah ok lah, i'm probably overreacting. he's from princeton university, done lots of research obviously, earned achievements in his field, etc etc. or maybe an autograph just for sentimental value, or hey it's kinda cool, there's no harm right? yea, i'm making it a big deal of a no big deal. but i somehow thought it was weird....funny almost.
sigh...nerds... :p

white kid goes white
About a week ago, I was in Biology lab, and guess what we were doing? Cutting up dead, sterilized fetal pigs (baby piglets) and examining their organs (heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, spleen, and stomach) "oo, what's that guey stuff over here eh?"
I didn't think I was able to do it, I honestly thought I would throw up or something. But then, hmm, it wasn't so bad (although the smell was, actually, really, BAD...) Then I thought, why did they use fetal pigs? Poor piglets fresh from mother's womb, never went through life already die liao. Then again, it's probably the convenience of it's size to make it possible for us to do it on the table, and secondly, I wouldn't wanna cut up a grown up pig, dunno what I'll find in there.... o_O
anywayz...we had to do this for three consecutive labs for each week! i thought, oh noooo..........what's more, this lab is before lunch time. yea, i'm really gonna get an appetite boost for pork. At the end of the first session pig mutilation, we were asked to name our pigs... "What??!! Are you sick you twisted @$% ??!"
Then I was thinking, sigh, maybe franky for frankenstein, or pork chop, or .... in the end, I dunno what made me do it, but there's this girl in my group, and I put her name on the bag. Hahahaha...named the pig after her. cool lehh...the professor looked at what I did and went "...no wait...you didn't have to..." i just laughed...hahaha
then it was at the end of the final of the live horror trilogy lab, and our TA said that if we wanted to cut open the brain to look at it, we can go ahead...i though she was kidding, but she was dead serious, well no la, still smiling actually...science nerd...hehehe...
so this kid at a different mutilation table actually skinned the pigs scalp. 8-O and suffered the consequence....he cut his own hand by accident, and he went WHITE like a ghost! the professor had to ask him to lie on the table, relax, etc etc.. this guy was sweating man, i could see big droplets on his forehead..whoaaa... it wasn't that bad actually, it was mostly psychological, but the police came, paramedics came, wah, a whole CSI episode live in action, with john doe on the table...kekeke

myf today
MYF online has been relocating time and again, from circles99 forums, to cjb, yahoo groups, etc etc, oh and not forgetting the one time "happening" communityzero. Their fault la, want us to pay, so we gotta pack up and move...sigh.. pretty much after that, MYF online isn't what it used to be.
I still have the link to cgmcmyf.cjb.net on my browser, and upon clicking I get an error message...hahah... I thought, hmm, maybe they moved again.. Ah, the miracle that is Google, looked up for cgmc at first. Boy, CGMC is quite an acronym for a bunch of stuff, from california gay men's choir, to some hospital. but anyway, looking down the list, I see something excitingly suspicious...eureka! found them. buggers neva invite or tell me also, what is this... www.cgmcmyf.tk :p ..kidding!
hmm...out of the 10 frequent posters (site's new), I only knew one of them rather well...hahah...anyway, the only interesting topic is...the one with photos la! doink.... ..*lost* who are these ppl???
hahah...kidding, good to see some funny photos, especially Ps. Richard's, what injustice! LOL! I know it's a pre-mature assumption, but looking at the photos, I really felt out of place. I don't know these ppl! Feels like the first time joining MYF again.
Ahh, those days..

struck dumb
Dear Beloved,
"...I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more."
"Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
For this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person - such a man is an idolator - has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."
forgive me Lord
